Gray Dogwood pruning

Can a Gray Dogwood be cut down to ground level to rejuvenate the shrub? The one I have is probably 20ft tall and about that wide. Thank You, Anne

Yes, you can cut the gray dogwood down to the ground for complete renovation. In theory it will regrow to about 2/3rds or so of its former size during the first year. You might also expect to see suckers emerge well away from the existing base of the plant in response to the pruning.
