We have collected Burr Oak acorns, what is the best method of starting them?

Bur oaks are a member of the white acorn group. As such, the acorns aren't dormant like the black oak group and have roots that emerge in the fall. You can plant the acorns this fall in a prepared seedbed (loose the soil in the planting area and incorporate some organic matter). Be sure to mark where you have planted them. Shoots should emerbe in the spring.
