Lawn depression

Our village removed a tree from our front lawn, including the stump. We thought they were going to replace the tree, but they just threw seed over the hole that was left and relocated the tree. The grass has actually grown in quite well, but the ground is not level in this area. Is there a way to level out the ground without having to reseed?

Next year you can begin to top dress this area, slowly raising the soil level with the existing new seeding. This can be done frequently using small amounts of soil each time. Depending on how well the area was back filled, settling may occur until the soil in that spot re-structures itself. Over several years as the roots in the soil surrounding the removed stump will also be naturally decaying and settling too.
