I have 2 red leaf banana plants that are newly planted outdoors. It was a wet summer this year in Florida. They looks like they are"rotting and being eaten while the leaves are still curled inside the plant, however we can see no pests. We love our red leaf banana plants and want to save them. Have searched online to no avail!

Help!!!

There are various rots that can affect the stem and rhizomes causing the tissues to discolor and turn watery. Diseases are usually exacerbated by wet, humid conditions. Since this is a plant well beyond our hardiness zone and our expertise is limited with it, your best approach would be to consult with a local garden center or the extension service at Florida State.
