If you're going to cut it back that severely, I'm not sure it's worth it. A few other problems with trying to take it: it is very sensitive to changes, especially watering, so depending on how long it is in transport, it could really be a shock. You did not indicate when this move will take place. The current cold weather is not advantageous to them. And finally, AZ has very strict laws about what plant material is brought into the state because of pests that could become problems. Bottom line...I think you'd be better off just getting a new one once you are there.
