I know that Round Up is the chemical to use to rid this invasive plant, but would it speed up the process if I covered area with black plastic after spraying the chemical? I would cover the plastic with mulch to keep in place. Thanks, Myra Linton

Covering with plastic once you have sprayed won't really speed up the process, unless your goal is to have it as a mulched area rather than one where you plan to put in other plant material. If the ultimate goal is to have the area covered with plastic and mulch, then once you have sprayed, you could cover it immediately.
