I have a pine tree spraying sap all over my deck and furniture all summer. It has gotten worse in the last two years. I would like to have it removed since it is right next to my deck. Is there anyway I can stop the spraying?

Dripping sap is usually the result of needle scale this time of year. it is either adult scales feeding heavily or new crawler stage (nymph) just beginning to feed having just hatched. Contact sprays can manage nymph stage insects before they build their protective scale covering. Adults can be managed with systemic insecticides. Please carefully read the labels as some products can harm some plants.
