Our maple tree has only leaves on the end of the branchs and they are wilted. We had a mild winter, It looked like it had buds and then it got cold again,, are we losing our tree? It has always been beautiful.

If your cold weather hit right as the buds were expanding, they could have been killed. Diseases do not typically cause a tree to be healthy one year and severely damaged the next.. If the buds were killed it will take a few weeks for the tree to generate new ones and begin to leaf out. Please contact your local extension office to find out if there has been a problem locally.
