I have two rosier dogwoods in large pots as I'm in an apartment complex. It's Almost July and I want to prune them if possible. Is there any reason not to. I'm not able to move them out of the pots at this time. I have only lightly fertilized them w Miracle Grow once. What do you recommend?

Yes, you can prune them to manage size as they are growing in pots. hand pruners will work the best and prune back to another smaller branch or bud so when you are done the plants are smaller but still retain their natural growth habit.
