My bark is peeling off of my maple tree. It appears to have some green fungus growing on the bark. It's this a serious condition that requires treatment? Does the tree need treatment or would I be eating my money on treatment.I can provide good photographs of affected tree.

Hello: Thanks for sending the images outside of this system. The blue green blotches are Lichen Moss, harmless to the tree. Common on older plants and or where the environment promotes their growth. The bark is characteristic of a mature maple where over time the outer most portions of the bark begin to naturally peel away. Unless there is damage that is not visible in the images, all is normal with your maple tree.
