Hi! Planted two smoke bushes end of July. Other one is doing fine. Both were green and healthy when planted. Two weeks ago I noticed browning leaves on the one. It is worsening. Tallest branches worst. Lower branches look fine. Is this verticilliam wilt? ?? Should I try cutting effected branches off? I know there is no cure and the bush will make it or not, but it's there anything I can do to give iit a better shot at survival? Thanks! You are always such a big help.Magnolia

Hello, I would suspect transplant shock before wilt. While both are smoke bushes, each has a slightly different developed root system. Be sure they are well watered. If the stems are completey dead, removal could be done. If just the leaves were impacted from transplant shock and the stems remain viable, I would wait and see what happens next spring.
