I have a redbud tree, two years planted next to my drive, where my light colored car is parked. I have little pin head size black spots on the side the tree is planted, on the hood, top and truck, no spots on opposite side of tree. I had this problem about a month ago and thought it was road tar splatter. I have not driven my car in several weeks and it has the little black spots on it and they have more each day. Washing will not remove them, only wax and then the stain it leaves has to be rubbed out. Is this a insect and should it be sprayed? I am sure the spots are not from driving, but from the tree. We had a redbud tree in the same spot for years before it died, so we are at a loss on what we should do. Thank you.
