Why is there a golden streak going up my arborivities?

Your golden streak moving up your arborvitae may be suggesting damage to that particular branch coming from the crown of the plant. this might be environmental stress, a canker, wind damage causing a crack, damage from rodents such as rabbits or mice. Examine the branch carefully and see if you can see an obvious cause. Consider contacting your local county extension service for a more locally focused potential cause and treatment.
