Tree identification

I have a tree in my front yard. The leaves are round and serrated with no notch and turn yellow in the fall, similar to a birch leaf but it is not a birch tree. The bark looks like a young black cherry tree but it is obviously not that. It also is growing more like a shrub, fruit are small and brown balls. I have no idea what it is.

Tennessee grows many kinds of trees and shrubs that are not winter hardy in Illinois, so my best suggestion is to contact your local Extension office for a more focus and local response.
