We use to raise rabbits & over winter use to pile up the manure around the lilac bushes. I am sure they got spoiled now that we aren't doing that any longer. They look pretty sick & it has been 3 yrs since fertilized them. What would you suggest using?

You could purchase duck or cow manure and continue your practice or apply a general purpose complete fertilizer. there are more benefits to the plants with using manures. Apply fertilizer in the spring of the year. It does not matter when you apply manures and composts.
