I have a Skyline honeylocust that needs removed. It is suckering at the base. If I cut it down and leave one sucker, will it be viable?

If the sucker is coming from above the graft or bud union, then you will get the same genetics. if below the graft or bud union you will likely get another locust of unknown genetic material and potentially a far less desirable tree.
