I have a weird question. This is my first garden and I planted a few cosmos. I have one now that just came into bloom and is about 9 FT 1 Inch ... How tall are they supposed to get? Also, how can I get seeds from the plants for next year? Thanks- Kelly Dean

Depending on the cultivar you bought these plants may be from a foot to several feet. If you bought a "generic" cosmos you get pot luck since you are not selecting for specific genetics (height or color and so on). Therefore a 9'+ specimen may be normal. As for seeds. I collect the old seed head in a bag and in the fall scatter them where I want them. If you want them in the same area leave the dead flowers on the plant for a few weeks so seeds can shatter in the growing site. PS if you had hybrids - they will not come back as hybrids but revert back to "pot luck".

The seed heads will be where the flower was.
