The attached pictures need identification. We have wood chips provided free from our city and I am not sure if these came with them or were left by an animal. There were 3 eliptical pods with the texture and color of a store bought mushroom. They measure about 1.5 inches. Two were on the ground and have "popped". The third is half in the soil and has yet come out of it's pod. The pictures show the pod and the last one that bloomed. The weight of the bloomin pod is almos nil, which makes me believe it is part of the mushroom family. No one I know has ever seen anything like these. I have additional pictures and am waiting for the last one to come out. Can someone identify these?
