the plant you want is variegated Plectranthus amboinicus,( syn Coleus amboinicus). a thick leaved tender perenial herb which should be used sparingly as it can easly over power other flavors, and does have active medical properties. http://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/pleamboinicus.htm and http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0RUE/is_1_37/ai_n9487703

I have Plectranthus Coleoides, and because of names like tropical mint associated with it thought it was edible. I gave it a try and it's fine. I eat 5 or so leaves when I go by the plant. I presume it has similar effects as Plectranthus Amboinicus, as it definitely has Camphor in the leaves with the strong smell it emits. I would recommend having it for general health, to fight sore throats, headaches (anti inflammatory), and in salads.

Plectranthus coleoides has the common name of Swedish Ivy. It is a foliage houseplant and typically not edible. The ones I'm familiar with don't have much fragrance as many of the other plectranthuses do. I question if you truly have P. coleoides.
