What does indeterminate mean for tomatoes?

It means the tomatoe does not stop growing or producing tomatoes (except due to weather). Determinate tomates bear all their crop at one time and then die. Determinates are good if you want to can. Indeterminates are good for fresh use and a prolonged harvest
