Renee, They are beautiful trees especially for fruit effect. However they do not take stress well such as compacted soils, high summer temps and drought and they need an acid soil. When they are under sttress they tend to get pests and diseases such as fireblight and borer. That said in the right spot they can be good trees here but I would not recommend them unless they can be given proper conditions. They do much better in the northwest US. good luck whatever you decide. Sandy
