You probably have one of the several foliar diseases that like asters. Make sure there is good air circulation around the plant to help dry foliage after a rain or a dew at night. Water only the soil and not over head water so foliage gets wet. Remove dead leaves and destroy. Do not expect new leaves to regrow where leaves died. The above maintenance is to help reduce the spread of the disease. Also consider using mancozeb or some other fungicide that control leaf diseases. Follow all label directions and precautions.
