Dieing Maple Trees

Please help serveral of our Maples trees, are deing, I bought the property last year, the trees seem to be very old, that stand 4 stories tall. Two of them are dead, the others have someting eating away at their leaves. Not sure what insects eat Maple leaves or if maples have a life expectantcy. please help

If you could get the maple trees id, it would help a lot. Depending on the type of maples, the reason they die can vary. If you can take digital pictures showing the dead tree, clear close up of a leaf and another of the bark, I may be able to id plant. Once that is done we can then try to figure out why they are dying. Send pic to schuster@uiuc.edu
