I purchased several different kinds of bulbs at the local Wal Mart and Lowes. I immediately took them home, during around a two inch hole and placed the bulbs inside the hole. After covering them, I watered thoroughly. After just several days, I had beautiful green stems coming up, but after weeks had passed, they never bloomed. What did I do wrong?

You did not mention what kind of bulbs you bought but assuming you bought tulips, daffodils, crocus and so on, they need to go through several weeks of cold soil conditions (under 40 degrees) to trigger flowrering. If the bulbs do not get an adequate cold treatment (not long enough or cold enough) you will only get foliage. If you did not plant these types of bulbs you need to let me know what bulbs you did plant.
