When should we treat our city vegetable garden for slugs? When I was cleaning up in the Fall I found a bunch of them in one section. I took out all I could find by hand, but I know they're there.

Without using slug baits, you can lay a piece of board down next to or in between the rows. the slugs will be attracted to the moisture below the board. Once a day ( morning is a good time) turn the board over and remove the slugs in the manner of your choice. Slug baits will work too, just apply at the first sign of feeding.
