I have a heavy infestation of Nostoc Communune Algae in my oil and chip driveway. It is heavy on two sides of the drive and spotty throughout the mostly shady part. I have done a lot of online research but have not found anyone in Illinois with the problem. Lots of New England, Ohio etc., but no one seems to have a solution that gets rid of it.

Apparently it thrives on Round-up, no matter the strength - it appears thicker when wet and dries to a black mass after several sunny days,
