black tiny bugs

For the past 2 months, I have notices black, tiny bugs near the windows of my house (also on the walls). I kill anywhere from 5-25 daily. They can fly, but usually are just crawling, so easy to kill. I have searched everywhere and sprayed a pesticide outside, no luck. Today, I cleaned out the linen closet because my husband noticed them on his towels occasionally (but we did have them in the bathroom on the window, so I thought they may have jumped). Well, I found a half opened box of Rid X and shavings on the floor in the linen closet (which is in the hallway). I threw out the box and cleaned out the entire closet, washing all towels, sheets, etc. Will this solve the problem? It's been less than a day, an I still see some lingering around in the rooms (we had also kept all doors closed for a week to see where they were coming from). I do have one that is intact, in a ziplock bag, b/c I was ready to call my exterminator. HELP!!

Of the last several threads related to small beetles found in the home, Rid-X products stored for period of time before be used or having been forgotten seems to have been the source of these small beetles. In Illinois, the Id has been either the red or confused flour beetles. Best Management practice is to purchase and immediately use that product. By cleaning up as you have done, you have likely broken the life cycle and you will find fewer and fewer adults and without a food source the will go away.
