We have a robin on our deck that appears to be sick. What should we do?

American robins (Turdus migratorius) are protected by state and federal laws. Leave the bird where you found it. It may have hit a window and could be stunned. It will likely fly away soon. If the robin is still there after several hours, you may want to call a wildlife rehabilitator for assistance. Do not attempt to care for the robin yourself. A list of rehabilitators that are licensed in Illinois can be found on the bottom of the "Find a Professional" page on this website.
