Good morning, In Illinois, it is illegal to keep/own wildlife, including red foxes, as pets. If the animal is sick or injured it can be cared for by a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. These individuals have permits from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to care for wildlife until the animals can be released back into their natural habitat.
