a bit of confusion here...I have heard it is illeagal to keep an injured/orphaned Starling as a pet but I can't seem to find anything to confirm or deny this....Any idea?

It is illegal to keep wildlife as pets. Injured wildlife can be kept by wildlife rehabilitators who have permits from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
