Why are there active bats now (January)? This seems unusual yet clients are calling about removals from inside homes?

In the fall, bats that overwinter in Illinois search for a warm place to hibernate for the winter. Some end up finding their way into people's houses. Often times the people may not even know they have bats inside the building. But in some cases, the bats accidentally get disturbed (someone goes into the attic, remodeling projects, etc.) and the bats become active.
