HI, I CAPTURED A LARGE MOUSE IN MY BASEMENT, I USE THE NO KILL CUBES SO I CAN RELOCAT THEM TO THE OUTDOORS, I PUT THE CUBE (WITH THE MOUSE INSIDE ) IN A PAIL AND STARTED WALKING TO THE DOOR, I HEARD A LOW TYPE OF GROWL, THIS LEADS ME TO BELIVE IT IS NOT A MOUSE? -- THE SOUND WAS LIKE A VERY SOFT GRRRR, OR TO TRY TO GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE LIKE A CAT A PURRING BUT VERY VERY SOFT. I FEEL LIKE IM GOING CRAZY HERE!.

THERE WAS NO SQUEAKING, HE WAS A VERY LIVELY LITTLE GUY JUST KEPT TRYING TO DIG THRU THE PLASTIC CUBE , HE SEEMED MAD NOT AFRAID, I REALSED HIM. HE WAS FINE. BUT WAS HE GROWLING ?

GOING GOOFY HERE, THANKS, Denise Neeb

Good evening, If the animal "growled" at you then I would say that it was not a mouse. Small mammals, such as mice, will sometimes make vocalizations when under stress (such as being caught in a trap) but the vocalizations would not typically resemble a true growl . When you say a large mouse, what size are we talking (i.e. do you have a rough estimate of size in inches)? Are you fairly sure it was a mouse (i.e. long tail with very little fur)? If you'd like, you can e-mail me with more details and we'll keep you from going goofy.

What was it? What growls? I just heard the same thing in my attic 10 minutes ago! Please email me if possible!

Just heard this in my BEDROOM. A few months ago, as well. I heard a sound like scratching and rustling, this time. We did have a mouse or two. A baby we found dead. It's very cold, here, like below 0, and we've had a lot of snow. I'm really hoping it's just a squirrel or chipmunk that's trying to stay warm. I've never heard of rats, here. Anything but rats!
