Beaver Nuisance Abatement

I'm with a civil engineering firm in Itasca. I have a client that is having a beaver problem that is causing flooding and hydrology changes to his site. He asking if he can use a device called a "Beaver Deceiver". From what I can tell it appears to not harm the animals or their habitat.

Do you know of these and would they be okay ot use? Would we need a permit for this?

Thank you

John

This kind of product works by lowering the water level and thus making the area less attractive to beavers. They do not significantly lower water levels. If the property owner does not want to trap and remove the beavers (he would need a permit to do so), this kind of device might work. A permit is not needed to install the device.
