I have been rehabing a gray squirrel for the past month and he has some red spots on his belly that itch, I put flea medicine on him a month ago but the spots aren't any better. I don't see any bugs on him and he is eating and drinking plenty. But he is itching badly enough to bleed a little. Do you have any suggestions?

I have some questions for you. Are the spots only on the squirrel's underside? Is there any crusty or itchy-looking skin around the ears or face? Is the fur on the tail still full? What sort of bedding material are you providing for the squirrel?
