Hello, I know a few people near where I deer hunt in Illinois, have seen many sightings of cougar. Is it legal to shoot one? Thanks, NORM

No, it is not legal to shoot a cougar in Illinois. If sightings occur, please fill out an Unusual Wildlife Sighting report. You can access the form from this website: http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/wildlife/sightings.cfm Thanks for writing.
