There is an animal that has showed up recently in our area. It is a very strange looking one - could be a dog or dog and something else. I have seen it twice at dusk and at night. We had quite a few foxes in our area until all the rabbits had been eaten and now we don't see them. We have a family every year. This animal is brown with black legs up to what I call the elbow (similar to the fox) has a very slender body, brownish in color, kind of a pointy face, but when it looks at you the ears come down like a dog, and a long tail. My question is do foxes ever mate with dogs? My husband and I are stumped because we have never seen a dog that looks like this. The 2 times we have spotted it the animal was eating something on the ground. We can't figure out if it is a mix of a fox and a dog or just an odd looking dog.

Do you think you could get a photo of the animal?
