Identifing droppings from am animal

How can we find identify an animal from droppings on our front porch? We have tried several rodent traps which have not worked. This animal does not like peanut butter, we tried humane traps, this animal leaves droppings on the trap and on the peanut butter.

Have you looked at the photos of scat on the Identify an Animal page of this website? You can access the page at: http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/wildlife/identify_scat.cfm Or, you could send me photos of the scat on your porch and I will try to ID the animal. If you put a ruler or a quarter near the scat, it will help give me a point of reference as to the size of the droppings.
