I LIVE IN CHICAGO ABOUT 2 BLOCKS FROM MIDWAY AIRPORT, A VERY HIGHLY POP. AREA. THERE HAS BEEN A COOPER HAWK HANGING AROUND MY YARD AND GARAGE ROOFTOPS AND FENCE FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS NOW. ( i have pictures and looked up the bird on-line.) I SEEN HIM/HER SNATCH A SQUIREL FROM MY YARD WEDS. MY QUESTION IS WILL HE ATTACK OR HARM A 15# DOG.? I DO NOT WANT TO HARM THIS BIRD I.M JUST WORRIED ABOUT MY DOG IN THE YARD... THANK-YOU BOB SWITALSKI 5121 S. KEATING CHI.IL.

No, a Cooper's Hawk would not go after a 15 pound dog. They eat mostly songbirds, but will also take squirrels and chipmunks. Your dog is safe.
