Hi I am having trouble with neigbors who feed wildlife and it is getting to be such a hugh problem that the only way I can see it stopping is if we write a local law against it. I know that other towns/ cities in illinois have such laws and I am trying to find out which towns have those laws so I cna start my research and try to persuade the city council to do something. can you help me? which towns in illinois have laws and where can I find out more information. thank you Heidi

It is unlawful to make available food, salt, mineral blocks or other products for ingestion by wild deer or other wildlife in areas where wild deer are present. Three of the exceptions to this rule are: 1) elevated bird/squirrel feeders located within 100 feet of a dwelling devoted to human occupancy, 2) incidental feeding of wildlife within active livestock operations, and 3) feeders for wildlife other than deer as long as deer are excluded from the feeder. For more information review pages 7 & 8 of the Illinois Hunting Digest which can be accessed at: http://dnr.state.il.us/admin/digest/
