I am fairly sure that this is a mature tiger salamander. You can learn more about this species at: http://www.inhs.illinois.edu/animals_plants/herps/species/am_tigrinu.html Since amphibians aren't my specialty, I'm going to double check my answer with one of the Illinois Natural History Survey herpetologists. If they give a different answer I'll let you know. Very cool find!
