Hi, I was out front today in the early afternoon when I got a glimpse of this dark brown rodent. My flower bed looked like it had tremors running through it under the mulch. About 10 seconds later I heard chirping noises and out of the small hole (about 2 inches) popped out a dark brown thin rodent. I think it might be a gopher or vole possibly...We have mice in our area but they are usually light brown with big eyes. The chirps almost reminded me of a chipmunk but it wasn't a chipmunk because I saw no markings. Any ideas?
