Don't know when you posted your question, but I have to assume it was mid July 2010. If so, it HAS to be the same friendly cormorant...yes, it's a cormorant...who hitched a ride with me on my kayak for a full 3.5 hrs. He even let me stroke his breast. At one point he was perched at the edge of the cockpit just inches from me, peering quizzically into my eyes. I have never experienced anything as magical as this wonderful stately bird riding with me, ocassionally swimming back and forth under my boat, hopping back on, sunning, and preening. I have photos and videos as well. Astonishing!
