little lizard

There was a little lizard in my garage this morning. It is the same kind i have seen in Florida and in Puerto Rico. My question is should that spieces be in Illinios?

There are only seven species of lizard that are native to Illinois. You can find pictures and descriptions for each of them at: http://www.inhs.illinois.edu/animals_plants/herps/ilspecies.html

If the lizard is not one listed on the website, it may be a pet that escaped. Or, sometimes insects or small animals, such as lizards or frogs, get accidentally imported on plants.
