I have been searching your site and the DNR site to find out how I would go about getting my Wildlife Rehabilitators License. I have been helping a licensed rehabber friend for several years when she gets over run with animals. I would like to have my own license so I could have animals at my farm to rehab. Who should I contact?

For information on how to become a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in Illinois you will need to contact Brian Clark with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Law Enforcement License and Permit Programs. His number is (217) 782-6431.

Hello, I also had the same inquiry as Traci Sigwalt. I'm having trouble finding information on on how to become licensed for wildlife rehab. I'm currently a volunteer fro Willowbrook Wildlife Center and they are in a strong need of a rehabber from the north west suburb area where i live and i'd love to become licensed. I left a message at the number that Laura Kammin provided above. Hoping someone calls me back.

Thank you, Izabela 847-912-7243

Today I tried very hard to find help with an injured raccoon in Chicago. It was nearly impossible. This made me think--What are the requirements and steps to take if you would like to help with wildlife rehabilitation but have no formal background in rehabilitating and live in the city? Is there anything I could do to help before people near Chicago can find a rehabilitation center for animals- raccoons, specifically?
