We have found a skunk that has burrowed next to a garage foundation. We would like to humanely get him out and plug the hole, before it has babies. Being that it is April 25th, do you think the skunk is still in the gestation period?

It is possible that the skunk (if it is female) may have already had its young. If you are going to hire a nuisance wildlife control operator (NWCO), make sure they check for young before the burrow is sealed. NWCOs are required to euthanize skunks. If you plan to trap the skunk yourself, you will need a permit from an Illinois Department of Natural Resources district wildlife biologist. Please let me know if you have more questions.
