Near work and along the Boneyard creek, 6 new goslings hatched a couple of days ago. Mother evidently pushed them into the creek, which at the time was only inches deep. With the storms, the creek is now running fast and there are no signs of the goslings. Would they find a way out, 'down stream' or do you think they drowned? Should we look for them?

I'm sure she moved them to a safe place. Animals are usually pretty in tune with the weather. I don't think you need to look for them.

It would appear the goslings did not survive. Both geese returned to the nesting area without goslings. They remained here for 4 days..basically just wandering around in circles then left. I contacted the wildlife clinic at the UI to see if anyone had rescued any goslings. They said some have been recently brought in but they did not have any information on where they were found. It's sad to think they didn't make it. If the females return each year to their birth place to lay their eggs, then most likely this pair will come back next year. This is not a good place for a nest. Do they just breed once p/year? Thanks.

Sorry to hear they did not make it. It is early in the season, so the pair may try to establish another nest.
