I work in an office building in the Glen (in Glenview), and have noticed a couple different types of hawks nearby. One I assume to be a red-tailed hawk- is big. The other is much smaller and looks different. What types of Hawks or birds of prey live in this area?

There are many hawks and a few falcons that are found in Illinois. In your area, a smaller raptor is likely to be a Cooper's hawk, Sharp-shinned hawk, American Kestrel, or possibly even a Peregrine Falcon. You can find great info about birds at Cornell's All About Birds website: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/Page.aspx?pid=1189
