We trapped and relocated 72 chipmunks last year. It cost $1500 They are back worse than ever. We have had to have our sidewalks jacked up with concrete and they have chewed through electrical wires for air conditioners. They have also chewed dry wall in garages and are digging under the buildings. We are a townhome association. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Geri

Sounds like you have good habitat there if you relocated 72 last year. That means that you'll have an on-going issue with them. Rather than relocating them (depending how far away they were relocated they probably came right back), I'd recommend using snap traps suitable for catching rats. Bait the traps w/ peanut butter and bird seed. Chipmunks can be trapped without a permit from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

We had a problem with ground gofers only to find neighbor was feeding them from her hand. There were probably 2-300 of them in her yard and of course they visited us often. No guess as to how many we eliminated with a pellet gun. We moved the following year.
