ive done as much research as possible and i feel ive ran into a gray area of the law.it claims to try to obtain a pet small wild cat/feline unlisted as prohibited that you go to the director of natural resources to try and apply for a type of permit at least 30 prior to bringing the animal into the state, yet i just read it was illegal to own a raccoon or oppossum?ARE THESE THE CORRECT STEPS I TAKE OR ARE THERE NO STEPS BECAUSE ITS ACTUALLY ILLEGAL JUT NOT CLEARLY STATED? IM CONFUSED!! PLEASE HELP ME!! ITS NOT A CAT LISTED AS A DANGEROUS SPECIES,ITS SMALLER THAN A BOBCAT AND IVE YET TO SEE ITS NAME LISTED AS BEING ILLEGAL BUT IM NOT SURE.I WANT TO TAKE THE PROPER STEPS TO BE ABLE TO OBTAIN MY CAT,WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!

What type a cat is it? Is it a species native to Illinois?
