squirrel trapping

Assuming I have a permit to catch squirrels that are getting into my house, where do I release them, once I catch them? How much does a permit cost? Is it difficult to get a permit, what is involved? Does the district biologist need to visit my house to assess whether or not they want to issue a permit?
